Barry Gruber has been active in the music industry for 20 years, first with his own projects, then as the founder of Band Together Records. As a performer, Barry has played throughout New York at venues such as the Bottom Line, The Bitter End, Eric's and The C-Note as well as at the Seattle Peace Concerts. Barry's band, Krazy Lyin', released a CD titled If the Moon Could Sing, which blends rock, jazz and reggae influences. Band Together Records began in 1992. Barry was later joined by Bruce Jay Paskow, formerly of the Grammy-nominated Washington Squares. Primarily, the record label's mission is to foster music with a positive, peaceful message. The label has released CDs by many artists. Currently, the label's main focus is Band Together for Peace, a 17-artist CD compilation. In April 2004, Barry was honored by the mayor of the City of Los Angeles for the creation of the Band Together for Peace CD. Barry is also a founding member of Transformedia and Art for the People. |
